Brian Adeney and John Pyers were honored as life members at the 2009 AGM
Brian Adeney is a long standing member of Elwood Sailing Club and regular competitor in club events. For many years Brian has assisted in the management of the club and in particular in race management and with the club’s training program and club boats. Although Brian has kept a low profile, his work has benefited most club members and most of the club’s on water programs and events.
In appreciation for continuous years of service to the club and fellow club members, we believe that it is fitting for Brian to be nominated as a Life Member of Elwood Sailing Club.
John Pyers is a long standing member of Elwood Sailing Club and regular competitor in club events. John has served on General Committee and has assisted the club in many ways over the past years. More recently assisting in the race control tower while recovering from surgery and unable to sail. In more recent years, John’s passion for ESC has been matched by his passion for the A Class catamaran. John has personally been responsible for much of the growth in the club fleet. John is regularly at the club during the week and willingly and cheerfully assists the club in numerous tasks upon request. John also assists many members with their boats. John epitomises clubman ship.
