Top of The Bay Interclub Challenge 2015 – Sat 7 Feb 2015

Elwood Sailing Club is once again participating in the 2015 TOP of the Bay Interclub Challenge. This year Port Melbourne Yacht Club as organising authority is hosting the event and ESC is requesting a large turn out of club members to compete and also support PMYC’s 125th Anniversary year.

ISAF Sailing World Cup – Melbourne Dinner

56170-isafwc-header (2)ESC members are invited to attend the ISAF Sailing World Cup – Melbourne Dinner on Tuesday 9th December commencing at 6:30 pm. The cost is $135 per person or $130 p/p if we can get a table of 10 together, so join Commodore Mark Foster and other ESC luminaries and make a night of it.

If you are interested in making up a table please register your interest ASAP with Brett Nangle at manager@elwoodsc.com

Sail Melbourne is also looking for volunteers to assist with the event between Monday 8th – Monday 15th December, so if you would be interested in helping out please register here. Not too many of us will ever qualify to race in the World Cup, but that should not stop us from taking part!

Sunday Practice

Sunday practice is open to all members and recent trainees (within the last 12 months). The club is open downstairs and a rescue boat is provided. Sailors are free to sail and practice as they wish.  Sailors may hire a ESC fleet OziOpti, 4.7 Laser or RS Feva training dinghies, or you can bring your own boat. It runs on Sundays from October – December in the first half of the season and January – April in the second half of the season from 9.00am-12.00pm. Continue reading

Green fleet

Green fleet is a collection of fun racing and activities to improve sailing skills. It is open to ESC club members, senior & junior, who have completed an Tackers 3 or Introduction to Club Racing course or equivalent and wish to improve their sailing. Greenfleet is hands on/on-water using ESC fleet of OziOptis, 4.7 Laser and RS Feva training dinghies, or you can bring your own boat. It runs on Saturdays from October – December in the first half of the season and February – March in the second half of the season from 1.30pm-4.30pm. Continue reading
