ISAF Coming To Elwood

As many of you would know Elwood SC has been asked to join the ISAF World Cup in December, which is based from RMYC.  Elwood SC has been appointed to a participate in the race management of the Vipers and Kite Boarders.  This is a brilliant opportunity for Elwood Club Members to volunteer on the water.  Experience is not necessary as you will be taught on the water – however, those with experience are greatly appreciated.  ISAF will also feed you during the racing and provide invites to their social activities – which is based around St Kilda. Top of The Bay Interclub Challenge 2015 – Sat 7 Feb 2015

Elwood Sailing Club is once again participating in the 2015 TOP of the Bay Interclub Challenge. This year Port Melbourne Yacht Club as organising authority is hosting the event and ESC is requesting a large turn out of club members to compete and also support PMYC’s 125th Anniversary year.

Sunday Practice

Sunday practice is open to all members and recent trainees (within the last 12 months). The club is open downstairs and a rescue boat is provided. Sailors are free to sail and practice as they wish.  Sailors may hire a ESC fleet OziOpti, 4.7 Laser or RS Feva training dinghies, or you can bring your own boat. It runs on Sundays from October – December in the first half of the season and January – April in the second half of the season from 9.00am-12.00pm. Continue reading

Green fleet

Green fleet is a collection of fun racing and activities to improve sailing skills. It is open to ESC club members, senior & junior, who have completed an Tackers 3 or Introduction to Club Racing course or equivalent and wish to improve their sailing. Greenfleet is hands on/on-water using ESC fleet of OziOptis, 4.7 Laser and RS Feva training dinghies, or you can bring your own boat. It runs on Saturdays from October – December in the first half of the season and February – March in the second half of the season from 1.30pm-4.30pm. Continue reading

Working Bee – Saturday 20th September @ 9am

It’s time to blow away the cobwebs and get the clubrooms ready for the new season, so we will be meeting at the clubrooms at 9 am on Saturday 20th September for a general clean up, wash down and chuck out session to be followed by a BBQ for lunch.

Bring along your work or garden tools, brooms, gloves etc
Come for an hour or three, whatever you can spare.
