As you would may be aware, there are now new Child Safe Standards that need to be in place in all Victorian clubs and organisations by January 1st 2017. Elwood Sailing Club is introducing new Procedures and Policy’s around creating a Child Safe Environment and being compliant with the new legislation. Big thanks to Ken Robinson for all his hard work, the sailing instruction will be posted in January. Participating clubs are, Elwood Sailing Club, Albert Park Yacht Club, Albert Sailing Club, Altona Yacht Club, Port Melbourne Yacht Club, Williamstown Sailing Club.

 

Discover Sailing Day Sun 8th Jan 11am

Discover Sailing Day is an opportunity for the whole family to have a taste of what sailing life is all about! There will be lot of activities to take part in and lots of information about how to get involved! Come down on Sunday the 8th January from 11am and enjoy the following activities:

– Dinghy rides for kids, teens and adults
– Free rides in A class Catamaran and keel boats
– RHIB rides for a taste of adrenaline!
– Knot tying demonstrations
– Stand up paddle boards
– Tours of the club
– Free BBQ

KEY FOB ACTIVATION

FOB KEY ACCESS

Due to the re installation of the door access program all fobs have now been deactivated. To reactivate your fob please come and see me, the manager at the club and I can set this up. I am onsite this week today Monday 31st till 4pm, I will be here tomorrow for Cup Day so come join in the fun and get your key activated.  I am also here on Wednesday 2nd Nov 9am – 4.30pm and Saturday 5th 9am – 2pm if these times do not suit please contact me, Amanda at manager@elwoodsc.com or call 0422 175 969 and I can arrange to meet you. Normal days at club Monday, Wednesday, Fridays and Saturday.

 

Season Opening Day Friday 30th Sept

Our Annual Season Opening Day will be held Friday 30th Sept

Cr Jane Touzeau will be performing the opening Ceremony along with our Vice Commodore Ross Lloyd and Treasurer Rob Anderson, the bar will be open, we will have live music and free BBQ.

AGM 2016 Vote in New Committee

Elwood Sailing Club’s annual general meeting was held on August 25th, 2016.
Thanks to all members who attended.
Following the meeting the club’s new directors are:
Joseph Picone           Commodore
Ross Lloyd                 Vice Commodore
Mike Wold                   Rear Commodore
Rob Anderson            Treasurer
David Wilkinson         Secretary
General Committee seats held by, Doug Haig, Dan Osinga, Ben Dixon, Freek Wetzel and Robert McQuade.
The meeting thanked outgoing commodore Mark Foster for his leadership and commitment to the club and also to Fay Foster for her ongoing support.

WORKING BEE SATURDAY 3RD SEPTEMBER 2016

This years “Working Bee” with take place on Saturday 3rd September from 9 am.
Please come and support your club, we need painters, cleaners, carpenters and general helpers, all this hard work will be rewarded with a BBQ for lunch.
